Nebraska Elk Outfitters is Nebraska's premier elk hunting outfitter. Located at the Lookout Land & Livestock ranch in northwest Nebraska, we also have excellent numbers of mule deer, whitetail deer, turkeys, antelope, and several different predator animals.
Your bull elk hunt will be at the Ash Creek and Hat Creek Units. Mature bulls in the 350" + range are the goal. We use several well-placed permanent blinds. Most elk hunts are spot and stalk. Note: General tags are only available to Nebraska residents.
If you are serious about filling your freezer with the best big game meat, we can help you fill that tag. Like the bulls, we hunt elk cows in the Ash Creek and the Hat Creek units. Two seasons – early and late – make for a great experience. In truth, the cows can be more challenging to get in shot range than the bulls. Plus, they are better eating. Note: General tags are only available to Nebraska residents.
Semi and self-guided Merriam turkey hunts are available. We have a large herd of turkeys on the ranch. 700-800 head of yearlings are wintered at the ranch headquarters making the turkeys yard birds for the winter and early spring. They put on a big show when the days start getting longer and warmer.
Even though we have harvested nice deer on the ranch, we are temporarily pausing deer hunts. Deer numbers are limited because of several different drought years and disease episodes. When the whitetails and muley numbers increase to an acceptable level, we will once again offer a limited number of hunts.

My wife and I agree our November 2021 hunt with Patti stands out as our greatest hunt ever! We have hunted Deer, Antelope, waterfowl and other game successfully yet the 2021 hunt will always stand out for what it was, Pure Hunting Heaven!
We saw Elk each day of that three day hunt. We witnessed bulls fighting, herds of bulls and cows moving over the hills grazing, enjoying each moment of each day. Having drawn a cow tag for the first time, my wife was nervous about the hunt, Patti was awesome at making sure Melissa understood how the hunt would conclude, and encouraged her every step of the way. The morning of her success we could hear bulls bugling, enough to give you goose bumps, yet did not physically see them. Patti’s knowledge of how the herd moves and her understanding of the land was evident as she led us over hills, canyons and woods following the bulls bugling. We came up over a draw and found ourselves perfectly positioned for a shot at what would be Melissa’s first Elk.
Patti does a tremendous job managing her property and the herd that God has placed in her care. She does a wonderful job in taking care to ensure your hunt will have the best chance of safety and success. We look forward to many more hunts with Patti when we successfully draw for Elk.
